Buckles from the Geddy House

Patterns for buckles and harness rings: At top left is a lead pattern for a harness buckle found in the space between the wall and the forge in the brass founders' workshop. To the right is a smaller buckle pattern of lead. Beside it is an uncleaned brass buckle derived from it and spoiled in the casting. Below is the lead pattern for a harness ring, and alongside it is a brass ring with shape idiosyncrasies similar to those of the pattern. Although the pattern was found near the Geddy workshop, the ring was found on property owned by glazier James Wray near the College of William and Mary. All are from archaeological contexts dating no earlier than the 1750s.
