2001 History Quiz

As the July Fourth holiday approaches, a survey commissioned by Colonial Williamsburg shows that a large number of American teenagers don’t know the history behind one of our nation’s most important holidays–one that we’ve been celebrating for 225 years.

The nationwide survey of more than 1,000 U.S. teenagers asked basic fourth-grade level history questions. The results show that students don’t know some important historical facts associated with Independence Day.

Now, you can take the 2001 History Quiz and test your knowledge of history against that of the American teenagers surveyed.

The quiz consists of 10 questions. You will be allowed a set amount of time for each question. If you exceed the time limit for a question, the timer stops, and the question is disabled. When you finish the quiz, your score will be displayed for each question along with the results of the nationwide survey.
