Fencing Lessons

Fencing--the art of swordplay--is extremely important for young men. Fencing is both a genteel art and an art of defense, and the sword is a sign of a gentleman. A young gentleman will, of course, have a tutor to instruct him in the art of fencing, but a young lady would never take a fencing lesson.
