Poor family walkingTraveling on foot is the cheapest way to travel, but you cannot carry much. You and your family pack only the most necessary of your belongings and start out on the western road. After three days, your children are terribly tired and even your feet pain you. You cannot possibly walk the 200 miles to Bedford County. On foot, you will never carry all the supplies needed to survive your first year.
