THE STONE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

In 1820, William J. Stone was comissioned to create an official facsimile of the Declaration. His copperplate engraving was used to produce 201 parchment copies, only 31 of which are known to survive. Pat and Jerry Epstein of Los Angeles, California, donated a Stone copy of the Declaration to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for public display. This high-quality reproduction of the Stone Declaration is suitable for classroom display or framing. Each 28 x 36 inch poster comes with historical background information and suggested lesson activities.
