Most Study Visit groups hire a coach bus. Some arrive in private vehicles. Ample parking is available at our Visitor Center.
All buses going to the Group Arrivals Building or the Visitor Center should enter from U.S. Route 60 (By Pass Road).
The bus waiting area by the Group Arrivals Building is for On and Off bus loading – 15 minutes. Long term bus parking is available northeast of the Group Arrivals Building and also on First Street off Capitol Landing Road.

After 5:00 p.m., Tavern bus parking is available on corner of Botetourt and Franklin Street.

- Waller Street
- Francis Street
- Nassau Street (DeWitt Wallace Museum)
By Rail or Greyhound Bus
Amtrak serves the Williamsburg Transportation Center with a connecting train from Washington, D.C. The center is just blocks from the Historic Area and provides car rentals, a taxi stand, and Greyhound Bus connections.
By Air
Norfolk, Newport News-Williamsburg, and Richmond International Airports are all close to Colonial Williamsburg. Norfolk and Richmond International Airports can be reached within 45–50 minutes, Newport News/Williamsburg Airport within 20 minutes and Williamsburg–Jamestown Airport within five minutes. Each has rental car and limousine services.

Driving Directions to Woodlands Hotel & Suites:
From Interstate 64, take exit 238 onto Route 143 East. Follow Route 143 to the second traffic light and bear right onto Route 132. Continue on Route 132 following signs to the Visitor Center. At second left, turn onto concrete aggregate road, Route 132Y. Turn at the first left; the Woodlands Hotel & Suites is at the top of the hill. (757) 220-7960.
