While waiting for the barkeeper's return, you over hear the gentlemen's conversation.
"Patrick Henry," says one of the men, "may be a great orator. His speech against the Stamp Act helped rally us all to resist British taxation. And his 'liberty or death' speech last year helped spur us all on to defend our rights. But he is no military man. He has no experience with the army. He does not understand military tactics. I cannot believe that the Committee of Safety appointed him Colonel of the First Regiment. What do they expect him to do? Talk the British to death?
The man shakes his head sadly. "With Patrick Henry leading the military, we will certainly be defeated. Look at him sitting over there, all dressed up in his uniform. If he understood military affairs, he would be out at the camp training his soldiers for battle, not here in the tavern talking politics with his supporters."
