WILLIAMSBURG, January 23, 1778.
The Hon. EDMUND PENDLETON, GEORGE WYTHE, and ROBERT C. NICHOLAS, Esquires, are chosen Judges of the High Court of Chancery, with a salary of 500 L. per annum each.

Edmund Pendleton, a resident of Caroline County, served on the highest court for 10 years. Robert Carter Nicholas, a resident of Williamsburg, served for only 2 years prior to his death in 1780. George Wythe, a resident of Williamsburg and later Richmond, served with distinction for 25 years.
