What is the Becoming Americans Video Series?

The people who converged on our shores during the founding years were a diverse group —young and old, male and female, rich and poor, European and African, native and immigrant. They set in motion a remarkable journey that continues to shape our lives today. Colonial Williamsburg is pleased to bring you some of the stories that make up that journey—the journey of Becoming Americans.

These video programs were originally presented as a Colonial Williamsburg Electronic Field Trips. Each video also includes access to a comprehensive Teacher’s Guide (with lesson plans and primary resources) and an interactive student Web Activity.
