New store openings for the Shops of Colonial Williamsburg

Several exciting changes are coming to the Shops of Colonial Williamsburg in Merchants Square this spring starting with the Grand Opening of the new WILLIAMSBURG Celebrations store on March 20. Located in the former WILLIAMSBURG Pure Simple Today store in the Henry Street Shops, WILLIAMSBURG Celebrations will feature year-round garden, Christmas and other seasonal offerings, as well as Colonial Williamsburg’s famous collectible lines, including the latest Byers’ Choice figurines and Lang & Wise lighted houses and accessories

Garden items take center stage this spring with the much-anticipated launch of the new garden accessory collection from ACHLA Designs. Decorative iron planters, flower containers, bird cages, wheel barrows and more will join Colonial Williamsburg’s existing assortment of bird baths, fountains, garden animals and ornaments by Virginia Metalcrafters.

Craft House at Merchants Square also will undergo important changes this spring. Reopening by March 30, the newly revamped WILLIAMSBURG Craft House will feature the full line of WILLIAMSBURG tabletop items and accessories from dinnerware, crystal and flatware to jewelry and a broad selection of other fine gifts. In addition, the basement will be transformed into a Tavern Kitchen, featuring tavern dinnerware, collectibles and new additions to our delicious tavern food line.

Don’t miss a preview of some of Colonial Williamsburg’s new product offerings for the WILLIAMSBURG At Home Store, opening this summer in the College Corner Building in Merchants Square. Beginning in February, Craft House at the Williamsburg Inn will reflect the future store’s merchandise plan housing the entire line of WILLIAMSBURG bedding, furniture, rugs, lighting, prints and mirrors, fabrics and more. The new WILLIAMSBURG furniture collection by Nichols & Stone will be introduced as well, joining the well-established reproduction furniture line by Stickley.

“The exciting new appearances of our WILLIAMSBURG Celebrations store and the revamped WILLIAMSBURG Craft House in Merchants Square are indications of the tremendous momentum of Colonial Williamsburg’s products program,” said Jim Easton, vice president of products for Colonial Williamsburg. “The dynamic new product mix at Craft House at the Inn offers a tantalizing sample of things to come.”
Revenue from the sale of WILLIAMSBURG® products supports the educational programs of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, a not-for-profit, tax-exempt educational organization that oversees and operates the restored 18th-century town of Williamsburg.
