Psst! Colonial Williamsburg Hosts “Spy Week,” June 20-26, in Historic Area and Art Museums, Pass it On!

Colonial Williamsburg hosts several “top secret” events during Spy Week, June 20-26, in the Historic Area and the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg.

  • Monday, June 20, 4 p.m., Crack the Code. The week kicks off with the museum family program, “Crack the Code,” at the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum. Young guests learn about real secret codes and ciphers used by George Washington and other leaders during the American Revolution. Then they try their hand at “cracking the code” using the spy techniques they’ve learned. Ticket is included in Historic Area and museum admission passes. Space is limited, first come first served.
  • Tuesday, June 21, noon, Secret Revolutionary City. Witness a special secret event during Revolutionary City on Tuesday, June 21. Grab your camera and be ready when a special performance erupts on the streets of Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Area. Ticket is included in Historic Area admission passes.
  • Friday through Sunday, June 24-26, Under the Redcoat
    Guests witness the arrival of the British Army as they seize Williamsburg, raise the British flag over the Capitol and commence occupation of the town during “Under the Redcoat.” During this re-enactment weekend, learn how life in 18th-century Williamsburg was changed when occupied by a portion of the British Army in America. Do you know the password to get around town? Ticket is included in Historic Area admission passes.
  • Saturday, June 25, 7 and 8:30 p.m., Revolutionary Points of View. Guests can decide whether they are patriot, loyalist or undecided during the evening program, “Revolutionary Points of View.” Guests encounter three people of the past who acquaint them with the common public opinion on the issue of independence and engage them in the most important debate in our nation’s history. Ticket is $12 for adults and youth ages six-17 and $6 for children under six.
  • Sunday, June 26, 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., In Defense of Our Liberty. Soldiers of the Virginia Regiments take guests back to the American Revolution to experience the lot of the common soldier during the evening program, “In Defense of Our Liberty.” Guests raise their hands to affirm their allegiance to the 13 United States and their journey begins. Ticket is $12 for adults and youth ages six-17 and $6 for children under six.
