CW receives 2004 Planners' Choice award for Outstanding Conference Services
Colonial Williamsburg’s ability to provide the highest level of service to its conference guests has garnered another important accolade for the property in 2004. Colonial Williamsburg Hotels have won the “2004 Planner’s Choice” award from MeetingNews magazine, honoring excellence in meeting services and facilities. More than 60,000 meeting, convention and incentive travel planners who read MeetingNews were asked to select properties and destinations based on the quality of facilities and services provided. The honorees will be announced in the magazine’s Dec. 13 issue.
“It is an honor to be so recognized by our colleagues in the industry with the Planners’ Choice Award,” said Gary Brown, vice president of conference sales, Colonial Williamsburg – Hospitality Group. “Currently, we are in the midst of a very exciting, multi-year commitment to enhance our existing hospitality properties. This process began in 2000 with the renovation of the Williamsburg Inn, continued with the 2001 opening of the all-new Woodlands Hotel & Suites, and will conclude with the renovation and expansion of the Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center that now is underway and due to be complete in late 2006. Colonial Williamsburg will have invested more than $100 million during this project to keep our properties at the very top of industry standards and to provide the highest possible standard of service to our meeting and convention clients both now and in the future.”
Colonial Williamsburg Hotels include five properties: the Williamsburg Inn, the Colonial Houses–Historic Lodging, the Williamsburg Lodge, the Woodlands Hotels & Suites and the Governor’s Inn for a total of more than 1,000 hotel rooms. In addition to its five hotels, the foundation also operates extensive conference facilities, 10 restaurants and the award-winning Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.
