For year ‘round golf, the mild climate and easy accessibility to Virginia’s Colonial Williamsburg and the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club are an unbeatable combination. New for this winter, the Golden Horseshoe’s “Sweater Weather” packages offer an incredible value, including lodging and great golf. Available from December 1, 2004 – March 17, 2005 golfers can stay and play for as little as $99 per person, per night, based on double occupancy and availability.
Pull out the cardigans, pullovers and argyles for a golf experience that includes accommodations at one of five Colonial Williamsburg Hotels, one round of golf on the nationally acclaimed Gold or Green Courses, unlimited range balls, and a 15% logo sweater discount.
The “Sweater Weather” per person package prices start at $99 for the Woodlands Hotel & Suites; $117 for the Williamsburg Lodge; $139 for Colonial Houses (28 restored and reconstructed 18th-century homes); $159 for the Providence Hall Wings of the Williamsburg Inn; and $219 for a deluxe room at the Williamsburg Inn’s historic main building.
The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club (www.goldenhorseshoegolf.com) offers the award-winning Gold Course originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., and renovated by his son Rees Jones, that plays to 6,817 yards from the championship tees. The Green Course, a 7,120-yard layout designed by Rees Jones, was selected by Golf Digest as one of its five best new resort courses. The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club recently was named a “Gold Medalist” in GOLF Magazine’s bi-annual ranking of golf resorts in the U.S. – a considerable honor since only 25 golf resorts in the nation received this recognition. The facility also was recognized as a Golf Digest Five Star Course and one of the magazine’s “Best Places to Play.” The nine-hole Spotswood Course, also designed by Jones Senior, rounds out the Golden Horseshoe’s offerings.
