Fresh textures for WILLIAMSBURG® introduction of new product by Phoenix International Inc.

WILLIAMSBURG expands the accessory side of its casual lifestyle line with the introduction of a new line of sumptuous chenille throw rugs by Phoenix International, Inc., importer and wholesaler of high-end home textiles. The initial introduction of WILLIAMSBURG throws includes the Tweed Chenille Throw (80% rayon/20% cotton) and the Jacquard Plaid Throw (55% rayon/45% cotton), each in terracotta and sage. Drawing from Colonial Williamsburg’s extensive collection of textiles and design resources, Phoenix International will expand the line to include embroidered wool throws, woven damasks and additional chenilles.

“Phoenix International is known for its well-designed products and competitive prices,” said Jim Easton, Colonial Williamsburg vice president of products. “It is a privilege to work with them and we look forward to the significant potential of this new partnership.”

Venkat Sampath, president of Phoenix International and original co-founder of Hillcrest International Inc., launched Phoenix in 2000. He is a graduate of Cornell University with a master’s degree in textiles. Based in New York, N.Y., Phoenix produces a wide selection of fine linens. “We are pleased to work with Colonial Williamsburg and to join their distinguished roster of licensed manufacturers,” said Sampath.
