Pine Cone Hill sends reinforcements to a 'New Revolution' for WILLIAMSBURG’S® casual lifestyle line at High Point Market
Declaring independence from stale design, Pine Cone Hill launched an expansion of the WILLIAMSBURG® casual lifestyle line with new additions to its bedding collection, “WILLIAMSBURG: A New Revolution,” today at the International Home Furnishings Market here. Marshaling bold color and inspired design, Pine Cone Hill and WILLIAMSBURG celebrate victory over tired misconceptions about early American style and fashion.
Continuing its barrage of stunning assortments of colors, textures and period design elements, “WILLIAMSBURG: A New Revolution,” is a truly innovative maneuver in 18th-century color and design. “I have so enjoyed interpreting the 18th century’s palette and patterns into products that are totally new and totally relevant in today’s world,” said Annie Selke, president of Pine Cone Hill. “The look on buyers’ faces when we tell them ‘this is Williamsburg’ is total surprise. But, I always take that opportunity to educate them a bit, letting them know that bold color was not uncommon in colonial American homes or closets.”
The expanded line includes Dunmore Damask and Dunmore Stripe sheeting in pink, green, turquoise and gold. These printed sheet patterns have been adapted from 18th-century silk jacquard documents in Williamsburg’s archives. On their own, the dramatic damask and the bold four-inch stripe can create a simple, striking bed, but they also have been designed to complement the introductions made in April to give customers even more exciting layering options. To keep the color evolving on the top of the bed, the introduction includes two new quilts – Geddy Stripe, a woven, dotted stripe and Medallion, a solid quilt with multi-colored embroidery.
“The New Revolution collection is an exciting direction for us,” said Lori Williams, Colonial Williamsburg product manager. “It creates so many new ways to dress the bed in fresh, liberating color and design.”
