Home Depot Foundation Grant Supports Free Admission for Military Families Veterans Day Weekend

Honoring Service to America ticket grants free admission to active duty service members, reservists, retirees, veterans, National Guard members and their dependents Nov. 11-14

Colonial Williamsburg salutes military service this Veterans Day weekend Nov. 11-14, offering free Single-day tickets to all active duty military guests, reservists, National Guard members, veterans, retirees and their dependents.

The “Honoring Service to America” ticket program is made possible by a $100,000 grant from the Home Depot Foundation, a philanthropy dedicated to improving the homes and lives of U.S. military veterans and their families.

“Colonial Williamsburg’s Honoring Service to America program aligns with our mission of improving the homes and lives of our deserving military,” said John E. Ellington, director of finance and grants administration for the Home Depot Foundation. “It is our pleasure to help provide free admission for our service members and their families to Colonial Williamsburg’s Revolutionary City.”

The Honoring Service to America program has distributed 18,000 tickets since 2014.

“We are deeply grateful to the Home Depot Foundation for supporting the Honoring Service to America program, and we look forward to welcoming service members, veterans, retirees and their families throughout the holiday weekend,” said Elisabeth Reiss, wife of Colonial Williamsburg President and CEO Mitchell Reiss and leader of the Foundation’s military outreach initiative. “We invite men and women in uniform and their loved ones for complimentary fun, relaxation and inspiration in gratitude for their selfless service to the nation.”

Free Honoring Service to America tickets are available onsite at the Visitor Center, Lumber House ticket office and the Merchant’s Square ticket window with proper ID. An adult must accompany minor dependents, and dependents ages 10 and over must present valid dependent ID.

Free Honoring Service to America admission tickets are available year-round to active duty service members, reservists and National Guard members.
