Grand Opening of Boxwood & Berry in Merchants Square

New Modern Garden Emporium, Boxwood & Berry, Celebrates Grand Opening Friday with Ribbon-cutting in Merchants Square

Formerly Celebrations, new Duke of Gloucester Street store celebrates its grand opening with 15 percent storewide discount

Boxwood & Berry, Colonial Williamsburg’s new specialty seasonal garden shop, celebrates the grand opening of its Merchants Square location at 416 Duke of Gloucester Street with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 10 to include remarks by Mayor Paul Freiling.

Formerly Celebrations, Boxwood & Berry is Colonial Williamsburg’s modern garden emporium, offering indoor and outdoor décor for every season and featuring items such as wreaths and greenery, seasonal floral arrangements, lanterns, and holiday offerings expressed with natural elements as in the 18th century. Southern favorites such as the magnolia flower and the pineapple, the 18th-century symbol of hospitality, remain as popular in the 21st century and are featured on many Boxwood & Berry products in home décor and seasonal gift items.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of Boxwood & Berry’s new retail location on Duke of Gloucester Street,” said Melissa Fraley-Agguini, executive director of products, retail and licensing for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. “In the 18th century, Williamsburg was a center of gardening activity. It is fitting that Boxwood & Berry, our beautiful modern gardening store offering 21st century products for the garden and home, has a place in Colonial Williamsburg’s Merchants Square.”

The store moves to Duke of Gloucester Street in Merchants Square from Celebrations’ location in the North Henry Street Shops to complement nearby shops including Colonial Williamsburg’s Craft House and Everything Williamsburg.

Boxwood & Berry will offer a 15 percent storewide discount during its grand opening weekend beginning Friday, March 10 through Sunday, March 12. Boxwood & Berry’s operating hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Guests who enjoy Christmas year-round can find holiday products at Boxwood & Berry 365 days a year.
