West African Dance Company Performs in Kimball Theatre in Honor of Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month in February, the Kimball Theatre is presenting the KanKouran West African Dance Company 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12. Internationally known for its authentic traditional West African dance, KanKouran offers an electrifying display of choreography and polyrhythmic drumming culled from traditions in artistic director Assane Konte’s native Senegal, as well as Mali and Guinea.

Tickets are $22.50 for the general public and $20 for seniors and students.

The Kimball Theatre in Merchants Square in downtown Williamsburg is owned and operated by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. It offers live performances and art films seven days each week. For information on Kimball Theatre programs, call (757) 565-8588. Tickets are available by calling toll-free (800) HISTORY or at any Colonial Williamsburg ticketing location. The Kimball Theatre box office opens one hour before performances.
