CW Hotels name Perry Goodbar Vice President for Hospitality and Business Development
The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s hospitality group, Colonial Williamsburg Hotels, has appointed Perry L. Goodbar vice president for hospitality sales and business development. Goodbar is charged with leading the sales efforts of the company’s core hospitality businesses--leisure, conferences, golf and an all-new spa, due to open in mid-2006--in order to boost revenue and enhance financial contributions to the Foundation.
“Perry has a distinguished career of more than 20 years in the hospitality industry at some of the nation’s top resorts, including The Broadmoor, The Homestead, Opryland Hotel, the PGA National Resort and Spa, and Callaway Gardens,” said John Hallowell, president of hospitality for Colonial Williamsburg. “Perry’s new role will enhance our ongoing efforts to strengthen and diversify Colonial Williamsburg’s hospitality product offerings, consolidating our sales efforts and focusing on business development, which will help us meet our ambitious growth goals and objectives.”
“I grew up in Virginia and am very excited to be back in my home state,” said Goodbar. “With all of the recent renovation, restoration and additions, Colonial Williamsburg is a tremendous resort destination. In combination with our adjacent Historic Area, it’s the most distinctive experience I’ve ever been affiliated with.”
Goodbar received his bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University. He and his wife, Karin, have two children, Mikaela (8) and Preston (6).
