Nationally acclaimed experts featured as CW hosts 58th Antiques Forum "In Search of the Past: Restoring and Furnishing America's Historic Sites"
Nationally recognized and award-winning museum experts are featured presenters at the 58th annual Colonial Williamsburg Antiques Forum, “In Search of the Past: Restoring and Furnishing America’s Historic Sites,” Feb. 5-9 and Feb. 26-March 2 in Colonial Williamsburg’s renowned DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum adjacent to the Historic Area.
Scheduled speakers include:
Colonial Williamsburg experts, collectors and scholars will present a series of illustrated lectures and video-assisted workshops on 18th-century furniture, maps, ceramics, textiles, paintings, metals and a number of important historic buildings.
In addition to the formal program, forum guests may register for optional hands-on workshops as well as tours of private historic homes in the region. Optional hands-on workshops with Colonial Williamsburg experts will include: Case Studies: Curtains and Covers for the Historic House; American Neoclassical Furniture; Archaeological Evidence of Domestic Assemblages; A Closer Look at English Earthenware; and From Hearth to Table Preparing and Serving an 18th-Century Meal.
Optional bus day trips will include the following sites: Fredericksburg, one of 18th-century Virginia’s major urban and artistic centers; the 1791 Cape Henry Lighthouse, the first Federal lighthouse in the United States; and Virginia’s Thoroughgood and Lynnhaven Houses, both circa 1725.
Conference registration fee includes the opening reception, all presentations, continental breakfasts, coffee breaks and afternoon refreshments, a closing reception and dinner, and a Colonial Williamsburg admission ticket valid for the duration of the conference.
