CW Web site provides complete royal coverage

Colonial Williamsburg’s division of productions, publications and learning ventures will be providing full coverage of the visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to Williamsburg and Jamestown May 3 and 4. Links to information are available from the three main portal pages of the Web site: www.history.org, www.colonialwilliamsburg.com, and www.colonialwilliamsburg.org.

Live video streaming of the Queen’s arrival and carriage ride is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 3. Friday, archival footage of the carriage ride will be online as will a slide show of still images taken by Colonial Williamsburg photographers. Live coverage of the Queen’s visit to Jamestown will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, with archival video of the event offered to Web visitors late Friday afternoon.

The Web site includes a slide show and video from Her Majesty’s 1957 visit to Williamsburg and Jamestown and also a schedule of the current calendar of events. Check the Web site for updated information and the latest video and photography.

“Our entire staff is working diligently to provide access to the event for those who do not have the opportunity to see the Queen in person,” said Richard McCluney, Colonial Williamsburg’s vice president of productions, publications and learning ventures. “We have photographers, videographers, production staff, Internet staff and support staff all working to provide live coverage as well as archival images and footage of Her Majesty’s visit. We feel privileged to have the opportunity to cover such a historic event.”
