A Day in the Life: Priscilla, a gentry girl

Prissy eating breakfastThat's right! As a gentry girl, you would eat a breakfast of bread, oysters, coffee or tea, and perhaps sweet jam or figs at your dining room table set with fine dishes. Your family slaves would serve you at the table.

During breakfast, you say, "Mother, my roof leaked last night...

...Can you have someone fix it for me?"
...I'm going to have someone fix it!"
...I'm going to go up and fix it myself after breakfast!"
