Bess, a house slave, blocks the way as you try to slip out.

"Where are you going, child? You have chores to do! Bring me firewood and water for the laundry. Go out to the stable and feed the horse and milk cow. Don't forget to feed the chickens too. Then go inside and wait by master's table while he eats. Now get to work!"
