Work as a team to learn how to put together an 18th-century bucket.
Money demonstration
Learn how coins were used and change was made in colonial times.
Grinding corn in the quern
Use a machine called a quern to grind corn into corn meal or flour.
Building activities
Learn to build a fence, lay a brick wall, or shingle a roof in the 18th century manner.
Clothing demonstration
Examine articles of clothing to learn about the differences in clothing in colonial times and today.
Domestic activities
Drawing water from a well, setting the table, and learning manners are among the activities you can experience.
Dancing
Participate in an 18th-century style English or African dance.
Games
Using period equipment, play various 18th-century games, such as rolling a hoop, lawn bowling, ball, rhythmic clapping, or pick-up games.
