Discovery Visit

Discovery VisitStudents in courtroom

  • These study visits are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Teachers seeking a more in-depth study experience may choose a Discovery Visit, lasting one day or several days. Colonial Williamsburg’s education specialists will work with you to design a tour to meet your educational goals in one of the following topics:
    • African-Americans in Williamsburg
    • Women in eighteenth-century Virginia
    • Work and enterprise in colonial Williamsburg
    • Family and community in Williamsburg
    • Choosing revolution in Virginia

  • Using the Historic Area as a backdrop, your students investigate events and places in eighteenth-century Williamsburg. Participatory activities and examination of primary sources and artifacts enrich this study visit. Admission to the Governor’s Palace and Grounds, DeWitt Wallace Museum, and Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum is included.

Reservations and deposit for interpreter required for this study visit.
