About this entry:
James Geddy, silversmith, named his daughter Anne after his mother, but Nancy was her nickname. An anonymous admirer published a poem about her in the Virginia Gazette in 1768 - "Miss Anne Geddy singing and playing on the Spinet" The ownership of a spinet is evidence of James Geddy's successful business.
