WILLIAMSBURG, May 9, 1777.
For Sale, the houses and lot whereon I now live, in Williamsburg, well improved, and the whole built within these few years; one fourth of the purchase money to be paid down, and the remainder at four annual payments. If not sold before the 10th day of June next, they will then be set up to the highest bidder. JAMES GEDDY

James Geddy (1731-1807), silversmith, grew up in the house that he finally sold in 1778 to Robert Jackson, merchant. He moved to Dinwiddie County for a few years before moving to Petersburg in 1783.
