WILLIAMSBURG, December 22, 1774.
Last Saturday arrived in Town Colonel MacDonald of Frederick County, with the four Shawanese Hostages, and an Interpreter. Three of them are Warriours, viz. Imeatewhaywa, or the Black Wolf; Wissecapeway, or Captain Morgan; Genusa, or the Judge; and the other is a young Man called Neawah, who is the Snake's Son, a principal Warriour of that Nation.

Dunmore's War with the Indians in western Virginia resulted in victory for the English who brought back Shawnee hostages. Dunmore was popular for a few months after this, until in April 1775 he removed the gunpowder from the Magazine in Williamsburg.
